The research requires good knowledge of basic Quantum Mechanics and Linear Algebra. It is important that the applicant should be interested in theoretical calculations, and that he/she has had good grades in the main theoretical subjects.

Leírás:

This MSc topic concerns the study of the non-equilibrium dynamics of integrable models, with both theoretical and numerical tools. These theories possess extra conserved charges on top of the usual conserved quantities such as the Hamiltonian and the particle number. The extra charges constrain the dynamics of the model, and they make it possible to find exact solutions. The main examples are the Heisenberg spin chains, whose exact eigenvectors are known from the so-called Bethe Ansatz method. The actual goal of the research will be to find exact analytic solutions in various non-equilibrium situations, but certain parts of the work might require numerical calculations as well.
